Edwina the Emu

Edwina the Emu by Sheena Knowles is a very good story as it suitable for both children and adult.
The story started with Edwina an emu, who decided to go find work while her husband Edward stays at nest guarding their eggs. Unfortunately after trying three different jobs she failed to do it. She tried to become a ballet dancer, a chimney sweeper but failed. Lastly when she became a waitress a customer said that he can eat ten eggs at a time and immediately, she flew to her nest and relieved after saw her eggs were save with her husband.
This story told us about how one cannot neglect their responsibility and in my opinion both Edwina and Edward need to play their role to form a peaceful marriage. Moreover, the language used is interesting and can attracts both adult and children readers.

  1. this book really capture my interest because of the way the writer use the language to convey the true meaning. the writer explain explicitly about how the emu get her eggs and it is suitable for kids to understand the meaning. for the language, the writer use simple English so that both children and adults can understand the message that the writer want to convey.
